July Newsletter

Colorful, summery graphic spelling "July" with beach and tropical elements.

Directors Corner,

Happy Fourth of July – celebrate with family and friends the birth of American independence.   Maybe you will be watching fireworks, parades, concerts or celebrating  by having a barbeque.  Whatever it is, enjoy!

Fun Fact:  There have been 27 different versions of the official U.S. flag from 1777 to 1960

Out of these 27 changes, 25 of them were made only to the stars on the flag. Since 1818, the number of stars on the flag, by law, must always reflect the number of states in the United States, with new stars added to the flag on July 4 in the year following their admission. The last was Hawaii's star after it was admitted in 1959.

Find the clue, then find the item/location in the City of Potterville, take a photo of yourself with the item, and bring it in to the library (or email us at  director@pottervillelibrary.org) . If you would like to participate, we will have a form that we will keep at the circulation desk with your name on it, and for each month that you complete, we will then mark it as completed.
When you complete all 12 months successfully, you will be entered in to a grand prize drawing.
