October Newsletter

The image shows the phrase "Hello October" surrounded by colorful autumn leaves.

Directors Corner,

October Happenings!

It is the best month for apple picking, pumpkin picking, hayrides, football games, Homecoming and anything else you like to do.  The weather is cooler so you can really enjoy the outside.  I like a little nip in the air!

Kaylee and Paige are busy getting things together for our Viking Lego Club and Story Time.  If you have not joined us yet on Tuesday mornings or Tuesday afternoons, please stop by to see what the programs are all about.  We would be glad to answer your questions.  Don’t forget about our 120 year celebration scavenger hunt.  Yes, it continues thru December.  The prize has arrived and it is a really special gift for one lucky patron.

Wow.  Take a look at our City.  It is fully decorated for the fall.  Great job (Deb) and crew.  It makes me love autumn even more.  If you have not had the opportunity, take a walk and enjoy.

Guess What.  We have a pumpkin contest going on.  Try to guess the weight of the pumpkin.  The patron closest to “Harold” gets to take him home.  Good Luck!

Do you want to get a head start on your Christmas shopping?  If so, the Friends of the Library have some things to help you started.  Stop in and take a peak.

I want to thank everyone who came out and supported the Friends of PBTDL.  Their 4th annual craft show was a huge success.  I hope you were able to find some great things for the holiday season.

Did you know that October is "Fire Prevention  Awareness"?  I understand that there is a 1920’s red Model T with bells in the area.  Where do you think you will find it?  Take a picture and send it to me.  Good Luck!

Have a fun month exploring!

In case you missed it, we are now into our 10th month of our year long birthday celebration.

We are holding a year long scavenger hunt throughout the City of Potterville and Benton Township.

There will be a CLUE hidden in each e-newsletter. Find the clue, then find the item/location and take a photo of yourself with the location and bring it in to the library (or email us at  director@pottervillelibrary.org) . If you would like to participate, we will have a form that we will keep at the circulation desk with your name on it, and for each month that you complete, we will then mark it as completed.
When you complete all 12 months successfully, you will be entered in for a chance to win an Apple iPad .  Good Luck!
